Inspiration :

Art Nouveau design embraces fluid curves and organic forms, inspired by nature's elegance. Paris Métro stations, especially Hector Guimard's entrances, feature flowing ironwork and sculptural details, reflecting this dynamic aesthetic. My plate design captures this essence, blending rhythmic shapes with metal elements to echo the métro’s timeless artistry.

Art Nouveau

Art Nouveau emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, emphasizing organic forms, flowing curves, and intricate ornamentation inspired by nature. It rejected historical styles, embracing craftsmanship, innovation, and new materials like iron and glass. Rooted in urban modernity, it shaped architecture, design, and decorative arts, with Paris as a key cultural hub.

Froms, Flowing curves, intricateintricate ornamentation inspired by nature

My plate design explores the fusion of insect-inspired elements with the fluid curves of Art Nouveau, creating an organic and dynamic form. The delicate wing structures of dragonflies and beetles influence the plate’s silhouette, with layered, flowing edges that mimic the natural elegance of exoskeletons and wing veins. Inspired by Hector Guimard’s curvilinear style, the design incorporates vining, asymmetrical contours that evoke a sense of growth and movement. Metallic details, such as brass or enamel inlays, enhance the aesthetic, echoing the ornate craftsmanship of the era. The result is a plate that feels alive—blending nature’s intricate geometry with the expressive fluidity of Art Nouveau.
