Book Helm

Book Helm is a bookend that can measure the amount of reading. It can be unfolded into two separate bookends, or used as a holder for a book that is currently being read.

Inspiration :

The inspiration comes from the idea: Can we measure something invisible and transform it into a fun point in daily life? And can we utilize the inherent properties of objects to achieve an interactive effect? This led me to think of a roly-poly toy, books, and a fan-shaped form.

Variant 1 Single-book mode.

Place the book you’re reading on BookHelm, and as your reading progresses, it gradually tilts from one side to the other. A suspended small ball acts as a pointer, visually representing the accumulation of knowledge through your reading journey.

Variant 2

As a regular bookend, the product features an adjustable length to accommodate more books.

Variant 3

It can also be separated into multiple pieces to hold a larger number of books.
