Hi, I’m Yuancong Jing, an industrial and product designer with a passion for creating meaningful, tangible experiences through design. My journey spans UI/UX, graphic design, and architecture, but at the core, I am deeply drawn to the intersection of physical interaction and emotional connection. Whether it’s designing products that enhance human relationships, exploring new forms of social interaction, or integrating aesthetics with function, my work is guided by the Bauhaus ethos: Form follows function.
Beyond design, I’m an avid music enthusiast and music producer, always fascinated by the rhythm and emotional depth that sound can create. The energy and structure of music often influence my design thinking, especially in how people experience time, space, and interaction.
To me, design is about breaking down a problem into its essential components, reimagining one or two key elements, and then reconstructing them into a refined, innovative whole. This process allows me to create designs that are both intuitive and thought-provoking, blending functionality with emotional resonance. I am always seeking to challenge conventions and rethink how everyday objects can shape our behaviors, emotions, and interactions. Whether it’s designing products that bridge different worlds, redefining physical interaction, or crafting experiences that evoke a sense of discovery and connection, I see design as a way to shape not just objects, but the way we perceive and engage with our surroundings.
Let’s connect and create something remarkable together.

The 2024 WANTED Schools Workshop took place in conjunction with this year's ICFF where it was sponsored and conducted with Honda R&D Co., Ltd. Honda Design and La Fonte Co., Ltd., in partnership with Pratt Institute and media partner Core 77. In this 4-day workshop student teams were challenged to use their design skills to solve a big problem.
I spent six years in a symphony orchestra as an oboe player! I also produce my own hip-hop beats. Sometimes, I think that if I weren’t a designer, I might have been a producer.
